Sabita Health and Safety Seminars

To further the effectiveness of the bituminous industry’s Health and Safety initiatives, Sabita started hosting seminars in Cape Town, Durban and Johannesburg during 2012, which were aimed at key safety personnel within member organisations. The focus was to allow the sharing of best practice amongst members, challenges facing the industry as well as provide an opportunity to showcase HSE services and tools available from Sabita.

The events were structured to allow input from delegates in order to provide practical solutions aimed at improving the safety and health of workers exposed to the many work-zone and traffic conditions. It also created networking opportunities as delegates were encouraged to participate in the discussions designed to maximise industry improvement through “learning from experiences”.

Since then, these seminars have become an annual event on the bituminous industry calendar with the main objective to tackle relevant issues as it impacts the industry. The table below details some of the presentations dealt with in the various regions. For more details or a copy of a presentation, please email Lorraine Wagner on lewagner@sabita.co.za or telephone 021 5312718.
